Elevator Furnace
Therser Wellman supply both gas-fired and electrically heated Elevator furnaces, suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and over a wide range of load shapes and sizes.
The Elevator furnace is a hybrid between the Lift Off Furnace concept and the Bogie Hearth Furnace concept. Twin bogie cars operate under and adjacent to a self-powered lift and lower furnace heating hood. Whilst one bogie car is “in process”, under the heating hood the second is being unloaded and/or pre-loaded for the next run. The lifting of the hood and the interchange of the bogie cars can all be carried out automatically as part of the overall control/processing automation, requiring minimum operator intervention across the full cycle.
Most are applied with protective/reactive atmospheres to prevent oxidization (In process) or enhance metallurgical properties within parts.
Typical applications include all types heat treatment processes in raw materials or component parts.
Our Elevator Furnaces can also be designed to meet the high performance demands within thermal processing standards such as AMS 2750G, GE and Rolls Royce standards, to name a few.
All of our robust and energy efficient furnace designs would be built around your process requirements/needs to give a solution tailored to getting the best out of your process.
